UIDAI has made updating your email ID through the Aadhaar mobile app completely free until 31 December 2026. Earlier, this service cost ₹75. The waiver has been in effect since 1 July 2024.

How to update?

Download the official Aadhaar app from the Google Play Store or App Store.

Log in with your Aadhaar number and credentials.

Select the “Update Email ID” option on the home screen.

Enter your new email ID.

Complete verification with the OTPs sent to your mobile number and email.

Keep in mind: This waiver applies only to email updates and only through the mobile app. Other changes, such as name, date of birth or mobile number, will still carry the prescribed fees.

One more relief: The deadline for free online updates of identity and address proof on the myAadhaar portal has already been extended to 14 June 2027.
