Mirza Ghalib used to say that mangoes should have two qualities:
"First, they must be sweet, and second, they must be in abundance."
Allama Iqbal was very fond of 'Langra' mangoes. Once, the famous poet Akbar Allahabadi sent a gift of Langra mangoes to Allama Iqbal by post. On the parcel receipt, Allama Iqbal wrote back this memorable poetic line:
"Akbar, this is the effect of your miracle-working touch,
A lame one (Langra) started from Allahabad and reached Lahore."
Therefore, let there be mangoes,
Lots of them,
Free of cost,
And chilled...
The Creator's purpose was for the creation to enjoy,
He made something that even an old man can chew.
The mango season has arrived, so along with yourself, do take care of us too! 😅
