My heart is drowned in the yellow light of these lanterns; Makkah has stolen me from my own self.
O Makkah! I have lost my heart in your streets; now how do I spend the rest of my life, for the air of your city keeps me alive?
O Makkah! Where are the pathways sold?
So that I may buy the shortest route leading to you.
"Makkah!! To reach you, I will now knock on the door of Rabb-ul-Aalameen (The Lord of the Worlds).... I am certain He will not return me empty-handed; He alone will create the means, He alone will make the way."
I cannot comprehend this state, O Makhfi,
Whether Makkah is in my heart, or my heart is in Makkah.
My heart desires to make some valley of Makkah my abode, and then no one should know me.
By God! If I could find any way to leave this town, I would set out (towards Makkah); neither would I remember people, nor would people remember me.
