🕋 "Qutub-Beeni" (Observing the Spiritual Mentors) More Than "Kutub-Beeni" (Reading Books) 🕋
Someone asked Hazrat Aqdas Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi (Rahmatullahi Alaih), "Hazrat, you have written so many books, so you must have read many books as well?"
Hazrat Thanvi (Rahmatullahi Alaih) replied in response, "I have engaged in Qutb-Beeni (gaining spiritual vision from the Mentors) more than Kutub-Beeni (reading books)." Then he said, "I have read only three books (referring to his spiritual masters):
1. Hazrat Shaikj Haji Imdadullah Muhajir Makki (Rahmatullahi Alaih)
2. Hazrat Al-Ustad Maulana Muhammad Yaqub Sahib Nanautawi (Rahmatullahi Alaih)
3. Imam-e-Rabbani Hazrat Maulana Rashid Ahmad Gangohi (Rahmatullahi Alaih)"
Akbar (Allahabadi) Sahib has beautifully said:
# Religion is born from the spiritual gaze of the elders (pious mentors) #
(May Allah Almighty grant everyone the concern for their own self-reformation) Ameen
