It is said that in earlier times, Satan used to be visible to humans. A man asked him, "Tell me a method so that I can also become like you." Satan replied, "No one has ever made such a request to me until today. Why did you feel the need for this?" The man said, "My heart desires it." Satan said, "The method for this is to be lazy in your prayers and do not care at all about swearing oaths; swear all kinds of oaths, false or true." That man then said, "I make a covenant with Allah that I will never miss a prayer and I will never swear an oath." Satan said, "No one except you has ever taken anything from me through trickery. I too make a covenant that I will never give advice to a human being again." (Fazail-e-Amaal)
