The Importance of a Reformative Relationship: Hazrat Shah Hakim Muhammad Akhtar (may Allah have mercy on him) used to say that until a person undergoes self-reformation, they remain spiritually immature. When one is immature, forgetfulness and shortcomings naturally occur. However, when one adopts righteous company and becomes concerned about their self-reformation, Allah Almighty gradually illuminates the heart with noble feelings, and Allah Almighty subdues the wrong emotions; they do not vanish entirely, but they become subdued.
