Full Method of Making a Passport in Simple Words

Generally, people think that getting a passport made is a very difficult task, especially regarding the passport office, people think that very complicated work happens there. Will we understand anything there or not? What will happen there? Etc. But in reality, if your documents are correct, getting a passport made is a very easy job; only 3 things need to be done: ❶ Taking an appointment ❷ Attendance at the passport office ❸ Police inquiry. If these three tasks are completed, the passport arrives at your home in a few days.

❶ How is an appointment taken?

The very first task is to take an online appointment. You can take the appointment yourself; if you cannot do it yourself, you can get it done through an agent. Now, taking an appointment has become even easier from an Android mobile through the official passport app 'mPassport'. To take an appointment, an application form has to be filled out, and after filling out the form, a certain amount of money has to be deposited. If a 36-page passport is to be made, 1500 rupees, and if it is a 60-page one, 2000 rupees have to be deposited. Documents also have to be attached along with the application form. If you have an Aadhaar card, you should attach only the Aadhaar card; you should not attach various documents like a PAN card, etc., along with it, because the more documents there are, the longer their verification will take, and they have no benefit. As soon as you fill out the application form and deposit the amount, you get the appointment number, date, and time. You can get it printed and keep it with you, then reach the passport office on that written date and time.

❷ What happens in the passport office?

You should reach the passport office at least fifteen minutes before the time given in the appointment. For example, if you are given the time of 10:45, you should reach by 10:30, because people are called for entry fifteen minutes before the scheduled time. As this was my exact time, we were called at 10:30. Here, by looking at your printout in which the appointment number etc. is written, you will be given entry. Now, as soon as you go inside, you will see three or four lines. Among them, there is a permanent line for small children and people over 60 years of age; they have to go into that line. This is special for them; no one else can go into it. Yes, if you go with your father etc. whose age is over 60, you can also stand with them even if your age is less than 60. Here, those documents will be asked from you which you attached while taking the appointment. I had attached only the Aadhaar card, so only the Aadhaar card was asked. It will be checked; if there is no mistake and everything is correct, you will be given a token number. The number is like N-22 etc. On that token number, it will be written what you have to do next. For example: Counter A → B → C → Exit. This means you have to go first to counter A, then B, then C, and then exit. Large screens are available there for going to these different counters; your token number and the counter number you have to go to appear on it. For example, if your number is N-22, it will appear on the screen as N-22---A-2, meaning you have to go to counter A-2. Remember that these different counters named A, B, and C are more than one. For example, A-1, A-2, A-3, etc. The same happens in B and C as well. Therefore, you have to carefully watch the number and go to the exact number shown on the screen.

Anyway, taking the token number you have to move forward. There will be a few chairs, and a large screen will be right in front. Sit on them and wait for your turn. In a little while, your number will appear on the screen. As soon as your number appears on it, you have to reach the counter written in front of it. For example, if N-22... A-2 appears, you have to go to A-2. At counter A, the Aadhaar card will be scanned, fingerprints will be taken, and a photo will be clicked. Remember, the photo clicked here is the photo that will appear on the passport, so get this photo clicked nicely. Here, you might be asked to buy a passport cover. This is an optional thing; you can buy it if you want, or you can refuse it. I bought it; its price was 350 rupees, but it wasn't worth 350.😢 Therefore, my advice is not to buy this cover; do a recharge of 350, you will keep getting 1 GB daily for two or three months.😊 Here, another request can be made to you: do you want to start the SMS service? Through this, you will keep getting updates about the passport. This is an optional thing; you can start it if you want, or you can refuse. If you start it, a 50 rupee charge will be taken. The work of counter A is completed here.

Now you have to go forward to counter B. There will be a few chairs, and a screen will be in front. Sit on the chair and wait for a while. As soon as your number appears on the screen, go to the number written in front of it, for example, B-1, B-2, etc. Here, the verification of your documents will be done. After that, you have to go to counter C. Here too, there will be a few chairs and a screen in front. In a little while, your number will appear on the screen; you have to go to that exact number. Here, your entire form will be checked to see if there is any mistake. If everything is fine, further processing of your passport is started. Your work in the passport office is completed. Now you have to exit by submitting your token number and get out of this danger zone.😊

Note: Remember, your original Aadhaar card will be asked everywhere, so keep it with you.

❸ Inquiry: One or two days after completing the passport office work, you will receive a phone call from the police station, and a time to appear there will be given. You have to reach there at that time. In the police station, you have to take all those documents which you took to the passport office, along with a photo, a witness, and a copy of their Aadhaar card. Two signatures will be taken from you there, and a signature will also be taken from the witness. That's it, the work is done. Generally, policemen also take some money, which is not their right and is illegal. If you want, you can take legal action against them.
