The Method of Developing an Affinity with Fiqh (Jurisprudence)
A gentleman inquired (from Faqih-ul-Ummah Mufti Mahmood Hasan Gangohi, may Allah have mercy on him):
"Which book should I study to develop an affinity with Fiqh?"
He replied: "Study 'Badai al-Sanai', it contains many principles and Lim (problem and answer/reasoning). For details (Juziyyat), consult 'Shami'. For conflicting evidences (Ta'arud-e-Adillah), consult 'Fath al-Qadir'. For deducing arguments from Hadith (Istidlal bil-Hadith), see 'Zayla'i Sharh Kanz'. Study 'Ahkam al-Quran by Abu Bakr Jassas Razi', as he first proves an issue from a Quranic verse, then presents other verses that support it, then mentions the endorsing Ahadith, and after that narrates the narrations and sayings of the Companions (Sahabah)."
