Allah Almighty Created the Pen

Allah Almighty has always existed and will exist forever. Everything has been created by Allah Almighty alone, and one day, by His command, the entire universe will come to an end. In the Holy Quran, Allah Almighty states that everything will perish, and only the Essence of your Lord, full of Majesty and Honor, will remain. (Surah Ar-Rahman 26-27). Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The first thing Allah created (among all things in this world) was the pen, and He commanded it to write. It asked: O my Lord! What shall I write? Allah Almighty commanded it to write the destiny of the entire universe until the Day of Resurrection." (Abu Dawud: 4700). Then, from that very moment, it wrote down everything that would happen until the Day of Judgment. In another Hadith, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah ordained the destinies of the creation fifty thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth." (Muslim: 6748). Whatever happens or will happen in the world from that time until the Day of Resurrection has already been written by the pen under Divine command.
