"At this time, there is a need to work by taking risks. If we desire that no harm should touch us, and not even a single danger should appear even in our dreams, then we have no right to anything. Every living being has to take risks; even an ant, which is insignificant, has to take risks, even though it knows it might be crushed. Yet, when the time comes, it too has to make the same decision. One who cannot help themselves, no one can help them."

— Maulana Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi (Rahimahullah)

The Lethal Power of a Broken Promise

The Lethal Power of a Broken Promise

A man had been sleeping comfortably through many nights of severe cold. One day, a passerby walked past him and said: "I will bring you a warm quilt!" The passerby went on his way towards his destination and forgot his promise to bring the quilt. The old man died from the cold while waiting for him. People found a written note near his body, on which these words were inscribed: "Before your arrival, I endured the cold for many nights because I had no other support. But your words gave me a glimmer of hope and made it my support, and by pinning my hopes on you, I lost my inner strength. Consequently... the cold killed me." ................ Always fulfill your words and promises. And when you speak, choose your words carefully. If your hope can give someone comfort and support, it can also shatter them completely.
