The wise person is one who does not make a mountain out of a molehill. They do not hold family members, friends, and neighbors accountable for every little thing.

Sometimes, silence is the best answer.

One should not calculate every matter, nor extract hidden meanings from every word.

Man is a vessel of errors; adopt forgiveness.

Do not audit every expense of your wife as if she were an employee...

And do not doubt every expense of your husband...

Do not let go of mercy, gentleness, and tolerance.

Believe me, the one who scrutinizes and investigates everything is deprived of peace of mind (divine success).

— Ibn al-Jawzi (may Allah have mercy on him)

The Wisdom Behind the Creation of a Fly

The Wisdom Behind the Creation of a Fly

The King of Khorasan, after returning from hunting, was sitting on his throne. Due to fatigue, his eyes were becoming heavy. A servant stood before the king respectfully with his hands folded. The king was extremely sleepy, but whenever his eyes closed, a fly would come and sit on his nose. Out of sleepiness and distraction, the king would angrily try to swat the fly, but his hand would hit his own face, and he would wake up with a start. When this happened two or three times, the king asked the servant, "Do you know why Allah has created the fly? What wisdom of Allah is hidden in its creation?" When the servant heard this question from the king, he gave an answer that is worthy of being written in golden letters. The servant replied, "Your Majesty! Allah has created the fly so that kings and emperors keep realizing that they should never consider themselves God, because they cannot even control a single fly by themselves...!!" The king liked the servant's reply so much that he set him free and appointed him as his advisor.
