`Adopt the Quality of a Good Servant`

Imam Ibn al-Jawzi (Rahimahullah) narrates:

"I saw an old woman performing ablution (Wudu) even before the Azan for Dhuhr. I couldn't resist, so I asked her: 'Has the Azan for Dhuhr been called?'

The old woman replied:

'أنا أذهب إليه قبل أن يناديني'

(I go to Him even before He calls me.)"

Imam Ibn al-Jawzi (Rahimahullah) says: "After that, I realized that I am a bad servant."

The great scholar of Hadith, Imam Sufyan bin Uyaynah (Rahimahullah) states:

"Do not be like a bad servant who comes only when he is called."
