Apple Launches New 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 Chip: 24-Hour Battery, 30% Faster Graphics, Priced from ₹2,39,900 in India
Apple has launched the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the new M6 chip. The company claims better CPU-GPU performance, faster on-device AI and up to 24 hours of battery life. The biggest buzz this time is around a MacBook Pro with a touchscreen OLED display, which Apple may bring for the first time, but the M6 MacBook Pro launched for now does not come with a touchscreen.

M6 chip: more cores, more speed
The M6 chip has a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU. According to the company, it has two more cores each in the CPU and GPU compared with the M5, which is expected to deliver better performance in multitasking, code compiling and creative work.
Graphics performance
Apple claims graphics are up to 30% faster than the M5.
A third-generation ray-tracing engine, which can benefit 3D modelling, photo editing and gaming.
Users upgrading from the 13-inch MacBook Pro M1 may get up to 11.7 times faster ray-traced rendering in Blender.
Project builds in Xcode are claimed to be up to 2.5 times faster.
These figures are based on Apple’s tests; actual performance will depend on how you work.
Big upgrade for AI
Neural Accelerators with every GPU core and a dual 16-core Neural Engine.
On-device AI workloads are up to 25% faster than the M5, and the Neural Engine is up to 1.9 times faster.
Time to first token for AI models is up to 13 times faster compared with the M1 13-inch MacBook Pro.
Image generation, AI upscaling and large language models can be run on the device itself.

14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display with up to 1,600 nits peak brightness for HDR content.

The new MacBook Pro runs macOS 27 Golden Gate, which includes Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features. According to Apple, Siri can use the user’s personal context to find information in messages, emails and photos, and can also take actions across different apps.
