June 14, 2025, Guwahati In view of the tension in Dhubri district of Assam, bordering Bangladesh, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has issued a ‘shoot-at-sight’ order against rioters. He said that a ‘sectarian group’ is trying to spread unrest at night, which will not be tolerated. Incident details Protests began on Sunday after pieces of meat were found near a temple in Dhubri city. On June 7, the day after Bakri Eid, a cow’s head was found in front of the Hanuman temple at the district headquarters, further worsening the situation. Government measures On Friday, the Chief Minister visited Dhubri and reviewed the situation. He announced the deployment of Rapid Action Force (RAF) and CRPF personnel.
