O people of the world! Know that you too have to die one day. After death, you will be resurrected and will reach the reward and punishment of your good and bad deeds. Therefore, do not swell with pride over living a few days in this world and never forget death. The world is a house of calamity; to perish is its well-known attribute, and deception is its emblem. The end of everything in it is decline, and for it to remain with someone forever is impossible. When a man gets a little comfort in it, in return, years of grief come before him. Death is standing over everyone's head, and tasting its flavor is mandatory for all. O servants of Allah Almighty! Today your condition in the world is just like that of the people before you, who were greater than you in age, stronger in might, larger in population, and superior in houses. But due to the revolution of time, today not even their voice comes out. Their bodies have rotted in the graves, cities have been desolated, and houses have fallen. Either those were magnificent palaces, round pillows, and velvet carpets, or now it is stones and bricks, dust of the grave, and the corner of the tomb. Do you have any doubt that your condition will not be just like theirs? Will there not be the same loneliness, and will this body in the dust not become food for worms?

Poetry:

We used to adorn ourselves so that the eyes of the whole world would look at us,

Little did we know that our gatherings would witness mourning!

It is a tyranny for the garment of existence to be separated from this body,

It is a tight attire; it will eventually come off in shreds!

The more it increases, the more it decreases,

Life cuts away all by itself.

When I looked closely at the condition of the world,

I witnessed the resurrection of this place every single day here.

Social Benefits of the Holy Month of Ramadan

Social Benefits of the Holy Month of Ramadan

The holy month of Ramadan is not just a month of worship for Muslims, but it is a month that not only spiritually trains an individual but also leaves deep and positive impacts on social life. This month provides an opportunity where a person, along with personal reform, takes practical steps for social welfare. The social benefits of Ramadan are as follows: Promotion of Equality and Equity: The most prominent aspect of Ramadan is the lesson of equality and equity. In the state of fasting, the rich and the poor, the king and the beggar, all feel the same. The experience of hunger and thirst gives every human being an awareness of others' conditions and helps in eliminating social disparity. In the Holy Quran, Allah Almighty says, Translation: "O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous." (Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse: 183). This righteousness prepares a person to help others. Encouragement of Charity and Almsgiving: Ramadan provides an excellent opportunity for charity and almsgiving. Muslims generously give Zakat, Sadakah, and charity during this month, which is extremely important for the eradication of poverty and helping the needy. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever feeds a fasting person will have a reward like theirs." (Tirmidhi: 807, graded Hasan Sahih). This narration promotes social empathy and generosity. Congregational Worship and Unity: During the month of Ramadan, the number of worshippers in mosques increases, especially in the Taraweeh prayer, people participate in large numbers. This congregational worship increases unity, brotherhood, and love among Muslims. Lesson of Moral Reform and Patience: In Ramadan, a fasting person has to keep their tongue, hands, and heart safe from sins. This training promotes gentleness, patience, and tolerance in social relations. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, Translation: "Fasting is not merely abstaining from eating and drinking, but it is abstaining from falsehood, obscene speech, and sins." (Sunan Ibn Majah: 1690, graded Sahih). This teaching plays an important role in improving social behaviors. Strengthening of Family Relations: During Ramadan, family members gather for Suhoor and Iftar. This time provides an excellent opportunity to sit together, converse, and strengthen relationships. These social benefits of the holy month of Ramadan remind us that Islamic teachings contain the message of well-being for both religion and the world. May Allah Almighty grant us the ability to act upon it. Ameen Thumma Ameen. ____________📝📝📝____________ Monthly: Ilm-o-Amal Lahore (March) Page Number: 19 Selection: Islamic Tube Pro App
