O people of the world! Know that you too have to die one day. After death, you have to be resurrected and reach the reward or punishment for your good and bad deeds. Therefore, do not boast about living for a few days in this world and never forget death. The world is a house of affliction; its transience is well-known, and deception is its hallmark. The end of everything in it is decline, and for it to remain with anyone forever is impossible. When a person finds a little comfort in it, years of grief appear in return for it. Death is hanging over everyone's head, and tasting it is mandatory for all.

O servants of Allah! Today, your state in this world is just like the people before you, who were greater than you in age, stronger in power, vast in population, and superior in dwellings. But due to the revolution of time, today not even their voice comes out. Their bodies have rotted in graves, cities have been deserted, and houses have collapsed. Once there were magnificent palaces, round bolster pillows, and velvet carpets, and now there are stones and bricks, the dust of the grave, and the corner of the tomb. Do you have any doubt that your state will be just like theirs? Won't there be the same loneliness, and won't this body become food for worms in the dust?

Verses:

We used to adorn ourselves so that the eyes of the whole world would look at us,

Little did we know that our gatherings would witness mourning!

What a tyranny it is for the robe of existence to be separated from this body,

It is a tight garment; it will eventually come off in shreds!

The more it increases, the more it decreases,

Life cuts away all by itself.

When I looked closely at the state of the world,

I witnessed the resurrection of this place every single day.

The 50-Rupee Photo

The 50-Rupee Photo

A photographer had put up a board outside his shop, on which the following three lines were written: "For twenty rupees, get a photo taken exactly as you are. For thirty rupees, get a photo taken as you think you are. And, For fifty rupees, get a photo taken as you want to appear before people." At the time of his death, the photographer revealed that people always got the 50-rupee photo taken from him... His purpose in saying this was that (mostly) people spend their entire lives just to show off to others. They practice pretension all their lives and do not live the 20-rupee life. However you are, you are very good... Live the 20-rupee easy and authentic life, and you will stay much happier.
