Ayat al-Quran

Translation
O you who believe! Do not consume each other's wealth unjustly, except that it be a trade by mutual consent (then it is lawful), and do not kill yourselves. Be assured that Allah is very merciful to you. (29) (Surah An-Nisa) Meaning: Its simple meaning is that just as consuming another person's wealth unjustly is forbidden, taking someone's life is even more forbidden. By expressing the taking of another's life as killing oneself, it is also indicated towards this that killing someone else is ultimately killing one's own self; because in return for this, the killer himself can be executed, and even if execution does not take place here, the punishment he will get for it in the Hereafter will be worse than death. In this way, the prohibition of suicide has also become clear from this expression. Furthermore, bringing this sentence alongside consuming someone's wealth unjustly makes it possible to indicate towards this as well that when the custom of consuming wealth unjustly becomes common in a society, its result comes out in the form of collective suicide.
