وَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ قَصْدُ السَّبِیْلِ وَ مِنْهَا جَآئِرٌ وَ لَوْ شَآءَ لَهَدٰىكُمْ اَجْمَعِیْنَ۠(۹)(سورۃ النحل)
Translation : And the responsibility of showing the straight path has been taken by Allah, and many paths are crooked, and if He had willed, He would have guided you all to the straight path¹.
Meaning¹: This means that just as Allah Almighty has created conveyances for man to travel the paths of this world, similarly, He has also taken the responsibility of showing the straight path to travel the spiritual journey of the Hereafter, because people have made many crooked paths for this purpose. To protect them from these, Allah Almighty shows people the straight path through His prophets and His books; however, He does not carry anyone by force onto this path, even though if He willed, He could have done that too; but the demand from man in this world is that he should walk on the path shown by Allah Almighty of his own free will, not by force, which is why Allah Almighty contents Himself with showing the path through His messengers.
