This story took place in Syria, narrated by the owner of a tailoring factory. The narrator of the story says: I was the owner of a tailoring factory. I had a neighbor whose husband had passed away, leaving behind three orphan children. One day, she came to my factory and said: "O so-and-so, I have a sewing machine that my husband used to work on, but we do not know how to operate it. I want to support these orphan children. Can I bring this machine to your factory and rent it to you so that I can earn some income and feed my family?" Hearing her words, I felt a sense of modesty and compassion (and modesty never leads to evil). I said, "Sister, absolutely! You can send it to me." When she brought the machine, I saw that it was a very old model and completely useless. But I did not want to break that woman's heart. I asked her, "Sister, what rent do you want for this machine?" She said, "Three thousand liras." And this incident took place twenty years before the war. I gave her three thousand liras and kept the machine in a corner because it was of no use. But I did not break her heart. We remained in this state for ten years. Every month, Umme Jamil would come and collect the rent for the machine, while the machine sat in a corner of the factory, doing no work. After ten years, we relocated from the small factory to a new factory situated at the edge of the town. While we were moving the equipment, I said, "Take Umme Jamil's machine along too." The factory manager said, "Sir, why do we need Umme Jamil's machine? Why should we take it?" I said, "It is not your job to ask, just take it." Days and years passed. Then the war broke out. And by God, everything in that area was destroyed except for my factory. Due to the war, contact with Umme Jamil was cut off. We tried very hard but could not find any trace of her. Every time we called her number, it was switched off. My factory manager left me and went to Europe. Two months later, she called me and said, "Sir, I have seen a dream and I want you to listen to it." I asked, "What is that dream?" She said, "In the dream, I heard a voice saying: 'Tell so-and-so that for the sake of the blessings of Umme Jamil's machine, We kept your factory safe in this war.'" The narrator of the story says: "My skin shuddered and tears came into my eyes. I said, 'Alhamdulillah' (Praise be to Allah). And by God, not even a single needle disappeared from my factory, even though everything in that area was completely ruined and destroyed." 🎯 Lesson: Good deeds protect against every evil and loss. Just as Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala has truly promised: "Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - indeed, We will not allow to be lost the reward of any who did his best in deed." (Surah Al-Kahf: Verse 30) Without a doubt, those who believed and performed good deeds, We certainly do not waste the reward of those who do good.
