مَثَلُ الَّذِیْنَ یُنْفِقُوْنَ اَمْوَالَهُمْ فِیْ سَبِیْلِ اللّٰهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ اَنْۢبَتَتْ سَبْعَ سَنَابِلَ فِیْ كُلِّ سُنْۢبُلَةٍ مِّائَةُ حَبَّةٍ وَ اللّٰهُ یُضٰعِفُ لِمَنْ یَّشَآءُ وَ اللّٰهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِیْمٌ(۲۶۱)(سورۃ البقرہ)
Translation : The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a grain that grows seven ears, (and) in every ear there are a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies (the reward) for whom He wills, and Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing. (261) (Asan Tarjuma-tul-Quran)
Meaning: Spending in the way of Allah brings a seven-hundred-fold reward, and Allah Almighty can increase the reward even more for whomever He wills. It should be clear that the Holy Quran has mentioned spending in the way of Allah repeatedly, and it refers to every expenditure made to attain the pleasure of Allah Almighty; Zakat, charity (Sadqat), and alms (Khairat) are all included in it.
